5 months old: January 2011

This was a big month for both Zachary and Mommy.

Zachary saw lots of snow this month... we had one huge snow storm every week! On December 30, exactly 5 months old, we let him cry himself back to sleep... it was the longest 17 minutes of our lives (so far!). He tried lots of new foods this month: carrots, pears, peaches, bananas, rice cereal, & butternut squash. He liked all except the peaches! He slowly switched to formula this month, and is doing great with it. It's been bitter sweet. No more pumping!!! Mommy has also been able to enjoy all of the foods I had to avoid while nursing that he's allergic to. After putting Zachary to bed, Mommy went to the neighbor's house; my first time away! Last, but not least, I enjoyed my first glass of wine in 13 months.

The last weekend of January, we enjoyed a visit from cousin Jimmy, Aunt Melissa, Grandma, and Great-Granny. They all flew in from Chicago & Missouri and stayed with us for the weekend. Zachary and Jimmy had a great time playing together!

Cousin Hannah's 1st Birthday Party.

Zachary had such a great time, he was exhausted and fell asleep before Hannah even opened her birthday presents!

A visit from Amanda & John.

Zachary now likes to "help" feed himself. He likes to grab the spoon, feel the food in his mouth, and rub his hands all over his face and head... He gets mini baths after every meal now!

A visit from cousin Jimmy, Aunt Melissa, Grandma, and Great-Granny. We had a great weekend together. Zachary and Jimmy played on the floor together, rode around in the wagon together, and Jimmy started saying "Zack."
